The Project Performance Assessor is a cost effective and efficient tool that
evaluates how projects are managed from 4 different respondent group
perspectives (project clients, project team members, managers, outside
contractors, etc.). It evaluates quickly and objectively 5 Project Challenges
based on 15 Team Capabilities, those programs and practices that are crucial to
the attainment of project objectives. The Project Performance Assessor:
- Identifies project strengths and weaknesses and where project management practices can be improved
- The aggregated perceptions of all key project stakeholders can be compared to determine the degree of alignment (team members, management, project users, consultants/suppliers)
- Permits the organization to concentrate on improvements that are the most profitable
- Enables comparisons among projects and identifies best practices
- Identifies organization’s project management culture and provides benchmark data against which future projects can be measured
The Project Performance Assessor uses a customized questionnaire of 4 questions for each Team Capability answered by
project managers and team members (the respondents rates each question on a
scale of 0-10), and 2 questions for project clients and a fourth category such
as outside contractors if required, together with open ended questions. In
addition, respondent groups can be subdivided to meet the specific needs of
each organization.
The following table defines each of these 15 Team Capabilities and the 5 Project Challenges that make up the model on which the diagnostic is based. These Attributes and Challenges are common to products
and services of all types and are made relevant by the customized questions.
